The ATP is a new generation fuel-efficient turboprop aircraft of which 63 were built between 1987 and 1996. The aircraft carries 60 to 70 passengers in a modern styled cabin which features sidewall lighting and deep overhead
stowages. Its twin PW126 engines fitted with six bladed Hamilton Standard propellers generate much lower noise and vibration levels compared to first generation aircraft. In 2001,
BAE SYSTEMS launched a passenger to freighter conversion programme and is now able to offer both bulk 'E' class and Large Freight Door versions with a potential for in excess of 8 Tonnes payload. |
